Mt. Batulao comes from the word "bato sa ilaw" o "ilaw sa dalawang bato", which is the expression comes from the seasonal phenomenon that takes place every last week of December. Where the sun nestles between the two peaks, illuminating the rocks which the local folks called "Batulao".
